Very good course to learn the French language as complete, grammatically speaking. You will learn how to write in the correct way as they will teach you the grammar of the language (rules).
Contras
Unfortunately depending of the teacher, the speaking part won't be strong. You need to push the teacher to more activities to speak and push yourself to speak day-by-day. Some teachers can get a balance of teory and practice(speaking). Some of them will put a lot of attention at the grammar and the speaking part will be weak.

The teachers are very kind and dedicated. Maybe because the high quantity of the grammar material, they put aside the speaking part of the course to have more time to finish the grammar program.
The positive point is the course is for free for immigrants. It is a good opportunity for new immigrants to have the first contact with the French language, but it will take longer to learn the language than in paid courses. If you're an immigrant this school will be a good choice to "break the ice" for free. If you are looking for a higher level of writing and conversation, you may go to a stronger school later on.
Contras
As most of the courses from the government, it doesn't give homework neither good material as a support. It's basically in class training. The lady who manages the courses and her team, seems kind of condescending with the students, being sometimes rude and impatient with people who doesn't understand their "orders" in French. They don't look well prepared to deal with newcomers.
Presentar a un maestro
The teachers struggle to do their best in class, considering the unsupportive management they have.

PROS Good and fun teacher. Nice division of time between grammar, listening, conversation and reading. Good having a local teacher telling about French-Canadian expressions and accent.

CLAM
Free Francisation course funded by Quebec’s immigration branch; The school is basic, but it accomplishes its function; I found fun to be in it with a diverse range of ages, countries of origin and paths of life; Contents and pathway well thought and good balance among writing, reading, grammar and conversation; Both the school and the program present you with the language and cultural aspects of Quebec; The administration was very present and willing to help, and the staff was friendly.
