Test Preparation, In-Person,
“Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) Preparation”
PROS
I passed my TEF after taking this course and taking few private classes to practice the exam format oral expression dynamics.

CONS
The WEB site said that there would be maximum 6 students per class, and there were 13. Not all students had the opportunity to take part in oral expression exam simulations.

Highlight a teacher
The instructor shared valuable information on the exam format and on the type of dynamics happening during the exam. Simulation practice tests helped to practice and to get prepared to the exam.

General, In-Person, 10 hours/week
“Good teacher, ok school, subjective marking system”
PROS
PROS Good and fun teacher. Nice division of time between grammar, listening, conversation and reading. Good having a local teacher telling about French-Canadian expressions and accent.

CONS
The evaluation criteria was too subjective and I ended up marked differently to what I thought I’d be marked. When challenging this I felt that the school admin did not trust me, like if I was cheating. That was a bit upsetting. Not much material to take home to study (no book, not many handouts, etc). The building door accessing the school was locked at evening time, after 7pm, a weird feeling being alone and locked up during evening school times…

Highlight a teacher
It was important to have a Quebecer teacher who would teach us local expressions, train us in the accent, and teach us some jokes about Quebec.
